What you'll find in here
At the moment it's a little famished but there will be plenty to come, you can always subscribe to the RSS feed. So when you get the munchies for some delicious information you can head on over. I want this to grow into a flourishing design blog and a creative source for all sorts of things.

It's not just a design blog; In here you'll be able to read about the ramblings of me, tips 'n' tricks for things like WordPress, CSS, PHP, Photoshop, some photography sessions and general madness. It's always good to get a bit of madness in.

A bit of water colour, a barrel full of talent from Emma Webs’ & you get the novel Alluro
Posted by Nouveller in Inspiration
A while back, a very good friend of mine (@EmmaWebsdale) was in the process of putting her first novel together named Alluro (which she’s now drawing towards finishing up!). I just couldn’t resist offering to conjure up a website together for her to help promote the book. I knew it would give me the chance [...]
I’ve been getting into a lot of interface design lately and trying to apply the same sort of principles and techniques into my web design. So I’ve rounded up a bunch of interface designs that will give you some great ideas and inspiration when you’re giving interface design a go or any other design really!
Over the past few weeks it’s been a bit quiet around here and the main reason for this is that I’ve been working on some super-secret projects with @callumchapman. Our latest project, DesignGiveaways, launched just today, in the past few minutes actually and it’s exciting stuff!
It went from concept, to design, to a rough HTML [...]
If you’re in need of powering up your skill set then it’s your lucky day. I’m giving away two, three month subscriptions to the brilliant Tuts+ network. This will give you a great opportunity to soak up the amazing premium content that comes out of Envato’s education network for free! If you’re still not convinced, [...]
I found this ’springy’ text effect in the footer of the Desandro website and wanted to find out for myself how it had been accomplished. Anyway after a bit off CSS-ing around I’ve come up with this using the text-shadow property and some positioning techniques.
During the recent MacHeist madness I grabbed myself the first nanoBundle of the year which included a right good bunch of software including RapidWeaver. I’ve already got a copy of RapidWeaver so I thought why not give it back to you guys! If RapidWeaver’s not what you’re after then definitely stick around as I’ve [...]
Buttons, buttons, buttons. We’ve all seen these little fellas. There’s probably loads sitting write at your finger tips this instance (unless your using a touchy screen, check you)! They’re an integral part of the user experience so I’m going to walk you through how to create a super slick UI button in Photoshop so you can [...]
I’ve knocked together a little WordPress plugin for my Social Media Bookmark + icon set. At the moment it contains a couple of useful functions to add the icons into your WordPress website/blog (read on for full explanation of these) and of course contains all the icons in it too! This will be updated [...]

Quick Tip #9 - Change the default capabilities of WordPress users with ease
Posted by Nouveller in Quick Tips
In my latest WordPress project, the client wanted a user with the capabilities of a Contributor but they also wanted them to be able to upload files. This is where the problem arose, a Contributor can’t upload files! I could upgrade them to an Author, which would allow them to upload files but in turn [...]
